About

TEN YEARS after world leaders gathered at the United Nations in New York to analyze how to reduce poverty and combat an AIDS epidemic, 5,000 delegates from 191 countries will gather again to review progress and chart a future course for the global AIDS response. UNITY, an alliance of three minority journalist organizations (the Asian American Journalists Association, National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and the Native American Journalists Association), is sponsoring a young journalists’ project to cover this General Assembly High Level Meeting on AIDS, June 8–10 in New York. The National Association of Black Journalists joins UNITY as a partner in the project. The four groups have chosen 12 fellows for the project.
